Is there one of the 12 Apostles
who you admire, AND why?
My favorite apostle is the Beloved
Apostle John. His gospel has had a
profound impact on me throughout
my journey towards the priesthood.
He exudes two traits, devotion to
the eucharistic heart of the lord, and
devotion to our blessed mother. John
is the one who rested his head on the
heart of the Lord and wanted noth-
ing more than to be close and next
to Jesus all the time. I have strived
to drop my nets and follow the Lord.
Before I knew anything else, I knew I
wanted to be as close to Jesus in the
eucharist as a I could. Second, John
was the one whom our Lord entrusted
his mother to at the foot of the cross.
In my own life, I went through the
Marian consecration of St. Louis De
Montfort around the same time I
started really taking seriously my
discernment of the priesthood and
living a daily life of prayer. From that
moment on my vocation has been in
her hands and she has led me through
the highs and lows of seminary life. ⊲
