Introduction to Diaconal Ministries
T
he Archdiocese of Denver Diaconate Community is made up of dedicated ordained men
who not only serve their parishes but their brother deacons and the many lost individuals in
the Archdiocese. This document is designed to consolidate the many ministries conducted and
assisted by deacons under the leadership of the Archbishop.
The Archdiocesan Policy Manual or "Bluebook" provides a look into the many functions of a
Deacon, as well as, some of the diaconal organizations that support their brother deacons in a
leadership capacity. Among the primary diaconal avenues of service and support are the Deacon
Council and the Personnel Board.
