Divorce Ministries
T
hrough the years, many Catholics have
been wounded as a result of a difficult
marriage ending in a civil divorce.
These wounds extend to the entire family.
Programs designed for those affected by
divorce are developed with the intention to
build a relationship with God and allow His
Mercy to heal wounds steeped in pain.
These programs exist to bring hope and
healing to those who have experienced loss,
suffering and loneliness as the result of a
broken marriage.
Annulments Ministry
A
t a Deacon Convocation in 2015, the Arch-
bishop of Denver asked his deacons to
step up activities and receive certification in a
more active annulment process. Deacons are
great advocates for those seeking to get their
affairs right with the Church.
While many of the deacons were already
advocates, the deacon community responded
and represent the bulk of the advocates in the
Archdiocese. These advocates meet with the
petitioner and walk with them on their jour-
ney through completion of the annulment
process. The petitioner often shares many
difficulties in their life that allows the deacon
to provide the tools needed for God to heal.

Divorce Assistance Ministry
T
he Surviving Divorce Program is based on
the teachings of the Catholic Church and
is a confidential service. Participants journey
through the grieving and healing process
with the guidance of trained facilitators who
have experienced the journey. Individuals who
attend gain wisdom and comfort as they give
witness to their pain and loss, while discover-
ing a deeper understanding of God's love for
them. They receive the healing power of Christ
through the Church and the Sacraments. Dea-
cons are a liaison between the diocese, the pas-
tor, and the program team to provide support,
counseling, guidance and spiritual direction.
The Lord rebuilds Jerusalem, and
gathers the dispersed of Israel,
healing the brokenhearted, and
binding up their wounds.
