Mission Apostolates to Haiti
V
olunteers f rom the Archdiocese have cre-
ated the Global Outreach Ministry. They,
along with volunteers having experience in
education, travel to Haiti and provide mission-
ary services to an orphanage. The volunteers
built a covering for the vegetable seedlings
area and a retractable awning for the produce
garden to protect the orphanage food source
f rom the intense heat. They supply books in
Creole for the library and assist the instructors
at the school with classroom management
skills.
The deacon helps coordinate the mission
trips and is a member of the team providing
services at the orphanage during their visits.
