The volunteers are very passionate about serving their patrons and engage in their ministry with faith and joy sharing their love of God. Patrons have a sincere deep faith and desire for community. Deacons and a priest support this ministry by assisting at the Mass & serving the liturgical needs of the community, including the spiri- tual needs of the patrons. Deaf and Hearing-Impaired Ministry T he Deaf Ministry Program is designed to assist those persons who are deaf or hard of hearing and their families so they can participate and grow in their Catholic faith. The Church supports the deaf community by providing an interpreted Mass, helping them prepare to receive the Sacraments, and instruction on the Catholic faith in American Sign Language (ASL). St. Bernadette Parish in Lakewood is home for the Colorado Catholic Deaf Community where a 10 a.m. Sunday Mass is celebrated and interpreted in ASL. The parish then offers weekly sacramental preparation, classes on the faith, and social activities interpreted in ASL for the community. A 12:30 p.m., Sunday Mass with an ASL Interpreter is also celebrated at St. Thomas More Parish in Centennial. The deacon assists at the Mass, preaches on occasion and teaches both sacramental preparation and faith formation. i Deacon Paul Zajac deacon.paul.zajac@gmail.com Deacon Marc Nestorick mnestorick@msn.com i Deacon Hal Goldwire deacon.goldwire@archden.org Deacon Joe Benedetto den.joebenedetto1@gmail.com " " Blessed are the meek, they will inherit the land.
